transition (from the gentle flow of paintings)
painting is the result of receptiveness. colour opens to the brush, the brush opens to the hand, and the hand opens to the heart, just as heaven has created everything that the earth brings forth. Everything emerges from conception …
tao chi
the streaming, ebbing and etherisation of water, structures of stones and plants, ripe colours of the sky, the earth and the elements, moods of light transitioning from day to night, the in- and outside, emergence and decay characterise the highly atmospheric paintings of holger musiol and take us to a visual language between abstraction and remembrance of nature, condensation and dissolution, infinity and border line, serenity and romanticism.
“transition” speaks of what the painter is capable of seeing in his inner and outer vision, what surrounds him, appears constantly, gets out of his sight, and comes back as a creative impetus.
